Last time I posted an omena recipe, it was markedly differently prepared. In this fried omena in oyster sauce recipe, I have used more condiments and herbs, giving it a beautiful fusion of flavor.
Since I stumbled upon oyster sauce, I have absolutely fallen in love with it. I am continually finding new ways to infuse it into my dishes. Adding it to omena is just one of those ways and I absolutely aced it!
I am almost convinced that it’s because both omena and oysters come from water bodies. The sauce has an earthy flavor and a sweet note. It does not give off any ‘fishy’ vibes, just in case you are wondering. We leave that to the omena.

It is for these reasons that these two marry so well together. The first time I made this fried omena in oyster sauce recipe, I drizzled lemon juice towards the end and this gave the dish a very tangy zing. I didn’t like it much so the second time I avoided the lemon and enjoyed thoroughly. You may try it both ways and decide how you like it.
