Cinnamon Grilled Pineapple Spears

This cinnamon grilled pineapple spears recipe can may be used either as a desert or as a breakfast side. Whatever time you choose to have it, you will indubitably relish it.

Pineapples can be used in a wide range of recipes. Consider salads, kebabs, smoothies and yes, the controversial pizza. Varied opinions aside, we should appreciate everyones preferences.

I like to tickle and excite my taste buds so the more varied the flavors, the better. If you like chilli like I do, you can garnish the pineapple spears with cayenne instead of cinnamon. Just picture the bounty of flavor right there!

Have a pineapple whenever you can, if not for their juicy sweetness, then because:

  • Rich in vitamin C  (Obviously!)
  • Rich in Potassium  (Blood pressure)
  • High fibre  (Digestion, Diabetes)
  • Antioxidant/mineral rich (Fertility)

Ingredients
  • 1 pineapple
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Grilled pineapple

Let’s Grill!

In a pan, melt the butter and mix in the sugar and cinnamon.

Coat the pineapple spears with the butter mixture and grill for 8-10 minutes until it is slightly charred.

Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon to serve.
