Green Salad

After any good weekend, you are probably looking to detox. Nyama choma (Barbeque), your favorite tipple, maybe a road trip and not enough sleep…your body is probably in need of some help to get back in balance, right?

One of the ways to do this is to reduce on heavy eating at least for a day, giving your body time to work through everything that is still in your system.

A light salad will not only taste refreshing, it will make you feel satisfied without eating heavy. This salad takes less than 10 minutes to prepare and you can make it over and over again.
You will need:

– 4-5 lettuce leaves
– 1 tomato
– 1/2 an avacado
– 1 cucumber
– 1/2 a lemon

Let’s Mix!

Tear the lettuce leaves roughly into a salad bowl and add diced avocado. Peal the cucumber and slice it into mouth sized halves then add diced chunks of tomato. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon on the salad, sprinkle a pinch of salt and it is all done. It is light, cool, healthy, easy to prepare and can be eaten at any time of day.
